The Library

Welcome to Leeds Beckett Library. We're here to support you in your studies and help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your course and beyond.

As a student here you will be able to access thousands of resources, many from off campus, and study in our two Libraries (Headingley and Sheila Silver Library at City Campus) which are open 24/7 everyday of the year.

Each course has its own Academic Librarian who will show you how to find, use and evaluate information in your subject area - you should meet them for an introduction to the Library during your first few weeks of University. We also help you develop your academic skills, with workshops and tutorials on topics such as critical thinking, maths and referencing. Before you join us you can access our Prepare to Learn module on our virtual learning environment, MyBeckett, which provides practical advice on becoming an independent learner.

The Library also offers advice in using IT. We help you use University systems, software and Library resources; access your email, modules, timetables and reading lists and connect to our eduroam Wi-Fi network. The University uses Office 365 and once you are enrolled you?ll be able to download 5 free copies to your own devices. You can also get 24/7 IT support, password resets and Library advice via phone or chat.

We look forward to meeting you soon and in the meantime you can browse our website to discover more about us; find us on Facebook (Leeds Beckett Library) or follow us on Twitter (@BeckettLibrary)
