The Library

Welcome to Leeds Beckett Library. We're here to support you in your studies and help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your course and beyond.

Before you join us you can access our LBU Study Ready module on our virtual learning environment, MyBeckett, which provides practical advice on becoming an independent learner. Once you’ve enrolled Study Smart will tell you more about what it’s like to study at University. You can also attend workshops and use web resources on topics such as critical thinking, maths and referencing or join peer supported study groups..

Thousands of electronic books, journals, databases, newspapers and multimedia resources are easily accessible via our Discover search tool so you can find the information you need for your assignments. Your Reading Lists are available alongside your modules in MyBeckett and you can also view online guides created by our Academic Librarians listing key resources for your subject.

Books can be borrowed from Headingley Library and Sheila Silver Library at City Campus and they also provide spaces for silent and group study. And we’ll support you to study and work collaboratively online.

Our Library and Student IT Advice Team will help you use University systems, software and Library resources; access your email, modules, timetables and reading lists; sign up to Wi-Fi, save your work and be digitally secure. There is advice on buying a device before you start University and once you are enrolled you can access a free Microsoft 365 subscription.

We're available 24/7 via phone or chat and we look forward to meeting you soon. In the meantime you can browse our website to discover more about us; find us on Facebook (Leeds Beckett Library) or follow us on Twitter (@BeckettLibrary)
